The town of Allagash is located in one of the most rural areas of Maine – there is no shortcut to Allagash. Allagash is famous throughout the eastern United States for its wild rivers and top notch big game hunting. Located in the most rural northwestern region in Maine affords us many popular year round recreational activities: canoeing, fishing (trout, salmon and muskie), hunting, trapping, snowmobiling and snowshoeing. Rich in logging history the upper St. John River valley was founded and still thrives because of the logging industry. Our region is envied by many for its beautiful scenery and rugged lifestyle.
